2007 Volvo XC90

With comfortable front seats, improved styling and three trim levels of comfort and performance, the '07 XC90 allows consumers to choose between an elegant and comfortable ride on the one hand, and fast on-road action on the other. This is one SUV that goes more for refinement rather than heavy-duty performance.

The standard model of the 2007 Volvo XC90 has a 3.2-liter I-6 engine with a six-speed automatic transmission delivering 235 horsepower. The much-acclaimed V8 trim level includes a 4.4-liter V8 without turbo compressors that can produce up to 311 horsepower.

The 2007 Volvo XC90 is loaded with safety features. Smart airbags are just the beginning, for traction and stability control features are also included, along with the adaptive cruise control and an anti-lock braking system. Climate control features, seat temperature regulation and MP3 entertainment systems hold promises for a ride that is as enjoyable as it is comfortable.

The '06 XC90 has three trim levels to choose from – the 2.5T, the V8 and the V8 Ocean Race Edition. Recognized as an average-sized SUV that is ideal for on-road driving rather than off-road performance, the 2006 XC90 incorporates most of the features of the previous makes, including the V8 trim level that was acclaimed for superior horsepower.

The 2006 Volvo XC90 has an I-5 engine with 2.5 liters of capacity and an in-built turbo compressor device. The engine is able to rev up around 208 horsepower like its former (2005) make, along with the same 236lb-ft of torque. Other notable features about the engine are the dual overhead cam along with the multiple point fuel injection mechanism.

The 2.5T trim level of the 2006 Volvo XC90 incorporates the Instant Traction feature that debuted in the V8 version of the 2005 make. This feature is available along with the all-wheel drive, which in turn is standard with V8 as well as Ocean Race trim levels.

2005 Volvo XC90

The 2005 Volvo XC90, in spite of the trademark Scandinavian styling that is typical of most Volvo vehicles, is distinctly different from its fellow Volvo SUVs. This compact SUV has been developed specifically to be a family vehicle – being smaller than the larger SUVs and yet has more space than compact family cars.

The 2005 XC90 has a turbo-enabled I-5 engine having a capacity of 2.5 liters. The horsepower generated by this little powerhouse is 208hp, the corresponding torque being 236lb-ft. The highway is where this engine provides the optimum fuel economy of 23mpg. Alternatives are the all-wheel-drive enabled 2.9-liter I6 and 4.4-liter V8, the latter providing as high as 311 horsepower.

The 2005 Volvo XC90 comes with a gyro sensor enabled anti-rollover mechanism, a blind spot monitoring system and multiple side airbags for a safe ride. Large families can now travel comfortably, as the V8 version of the XC90 can sit as many as seven persons at once.
